Dear Mama - Est. 2022

I started this piece in 2022 for my mom — drawn from a photo of her in her youth, stylish and full of that classic 70s confidence she always carried. My mom was always fly! She’s 81 now, which is such a blessing and I’m so grateful I get to care for her the same way she once cared for me. My mom has always pushed through fear her entire life, took risks, and built the foundation I stand on today. Her journey is truly inspirational! 

In this chapter, she def has been teaching me who I truly am as a woman — how to move with intention, how to plan for my future, how to stand firm in my worth and how to stay rooted in my Colombian heritage. She reminds me that I’m enough, that I’m worthy, and that real strength comes from pushing through. And she’s even taught me the one thing I struggled with most...patience lol 

I love her dearly, and this piece is dedicated to my hero — Maritza.
